Concordia University seeks applicants for a University Dean of the School of Business Administration position, to begin January 1, 2015. This position has oversight for the entire School, including undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs, at the University’s campus locations in Mequon, WI, and Ann Arbor, MI.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will include the administration of the School of Business Administration (SBA) on two campuses and through traditional and non-traditional delivery systems within the framework established by the University. While adhering to the mission and values of Concordia University, the Dean of the SBA provides leadership and vision for all SBA academic programs, including all undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs. The Dean also serves as the School’s chief fiscal, personnel, curricular, and assessment officer as well. This position includes six credits of teaching annually, participation in faculty and administrative committees, academic scholarship, and university service.
Attributes, Education, and Experience
The mission of Concordia University promotes "developing students in mind, body and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and the world." For that reason, a distinctly Christian worldview is required, and membership in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) is strongly preferred. A graduate degree in business and a doctorate in business or a related field are required. An ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills as well as successful leadership and administrative experience and a track record of innovation and scholarship. Strong preference will be shown to candidates with proven experience with fundraising and managing a capital campaign. Prior college teaching experience is desirable.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, faculty, exempt position. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until successful candidate(s) are identified. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2015. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience.
