Koinonia Foster Homes is seeking a highly motivated individual with a solid background in non-profit accounting to serve as its
Director of Accounting at its headquarters in Loomis, California (near Sacramento).
Koinonia Foster Homes is a faith-based, non-profit foster family agency that provides foster care, adoptions and group home care for abused and neglected children and young people in California and Nevada. We have approximately 197 staff, 500 foster families and over 730 clients in our various programs, with an annual budget of approximately $19 million. We have about 30 offices located throughout California and Nevada, and we are one of California's and Nevada's leading foster family agencies, with over 25 years of experience.
The
Director of Accounting oversees and directs the financial reporting, cash, investments, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, real estate, banking and insurance activities for the organization, and supervises an accounting manager who oversees a staff of five full-time employees. The ideal candidate will have a solid background of accounting experience involving non-profit organizations, with a MBA or Master's or Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Ideally, the candidate will have experience with California-licensed non-profit foster family agencies. The ideal candidate will also have excellent people skills, a flexible attitude, a team-oriented management approach, a high level of integrity and a strong commitment to excellence, and 5+ years of supervisory experience. Licensure as a CPA is also desirable.
The starting salary for this position is in the $65,000 to $80,000 per year range, with a great benefits package including company paid employee and dependent group health insurance, 401K retirement program with company matching contributions, life insurance, disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and more.
