Responsibilities
The Bookkeeper helps oversee all financial aspects of the Christian Health Service Corps. This includes general accounting systems, grant reporting, grant allocation, and maintenance of all fiscal controls and standards. They are also responsible for the preparation and management of budgets, in collaboration with the Financial Executive Director. The Bookkeeper serves as the initial contact with financial institutions, oversees employee benefits administration, and provides accurate and timely financial information to the Financial Executive Director, members of the Board of Directors, and auditors.
Requirements:
· Accounting/Bookkeeping experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
· Strong Computer and communication skills
· Proficiency with QuickBooks (not QuickBooks Online)
· Detail-oriented
· Highly organized and able to work remotely
· Interpersonal skills and ability to remain calm and pleasant under pressure and deal effectively with interruptions
· Someone who thrives as a part of a small and hard-working team
Preferred:
· Experience working with nonprofits
· Understanding of labor and employment laws
· In-depth understanding of practices, techniques, and procedures used in nonprofit accounting
· Experience working with grants and grant-based cost-allocation
Work from Home Virtual Position with some in-person meetings
· $20-$25/hr (commensurate with experience)
