Residential Youth Mentor

About us

Heartlight Ministries is one of the nation's leading Christian Residential Counseling Centers for struggling teens. Established in 1988, Heartlight has housed thousands of teenagers over the last 35 years and provided a safe-haven for kids to come to.

Duties as caregiver

  • Provide safe and clean environment for residents in accordance with State Standards.
  • Responsible for supervising residents in a residential setting: this includes but is not limited to the following: direct supervision of kids, ensure their health, safety, care and well-being.
  • Making sure residents are fed, have appropriate hygiene and are on time to weekly events.
  • Oversee and participate in work projects each week, ensuring the completion of them and the safety of the residents.
  • Attend scheduled events (weekly schedule available upon request) with residents, such as: school, therapeutic groups, doctor’s appointments, program activities, etc.

Requirements

  • Willing to relocate to East Texas
  • Personal Relationship with the Lord displayed in word, deed and action.
  • High School Diploma
  • Teachable and Relational
  • Dependable
  • Unmarried
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass background check

Known for its excellent and successful program, Heartlight offers a safe haven for 60 struggling teens who need help getting their life in order. We strive for excellence in our program, activities, facility, and staff, where an atmosphere of relationships creates an arena for change. Located on 150 acres in East Texas, the Heartlight Boarding School program hosts parent retreats during the year with the intent of helping parents learn new ways of handling the most difficult of situations with their struggling teen.
