Revoice just completed its 6th annual conference, and it was yet another expression of the power of God coming true for Christian, LGBTQ+ siblings. Revoice has successfully established itself as a place of love and truth, offering a haven of gospel rest to marginalized Christians who often have felt excluded by the Church. Revoice is equipping believers with the assurance of the gospel, the challenge of Jesus’ call to discipleship in community, and is providing clear avenues to allies who know that the church has not loved the LGBTQ+ community as it should.
The need for Revoice is even more urgent than when it started. Our country and culture is more polarized than ever, and the culture’s response both for and against the LGBTQ+ community magnifies and multiplies the desperate need that exists for a gospel-centered, biblically grounded movement that adheres to the historic, Christian sexual ethic. Our current moment in the culture and in the church is increasingly focused on the LGBT community; and now up to 20% of youth (Gen Z) are identifying as LGBTQ (Gallup). Revoice continues to be poised to respond to the wave of attention and respond to the tensions in a way that serves people, the culture, the church, and Jesus. Revoice’s theological perspective is uniquely positioned to love both Jesus and LGBTQ+ people. It is uniquely positioned to honor the culture’s aversion to the excesses of reparative therapy, while also faithfully honoring the Scriptures and discipling LGBT people.
