Minister to Students

Nestled at the foot of the majestic Wasatch Mountains, we are driven by a bold vision to bring the life-changing message of Jesus to one of the fastest-growing yet least-reached states in the nation.

Utah is known, among many things, as a place with lots of kids and young families. Flourishing Grace is surrounded by several junior and senior high schools, and we believe that God desires to use Flourishing Grace to reach teenagers who are far from Jesus. Our vision for ministry with students is that Flourishing Grace will be a place that reaches students inside our walls as well as outside them while equipping parents as the primary disciples of their children.

We are seeking a Minister to Students who is passionately in love with Jesus and wholeheartedly committed to advancing His Kingdom for His glory. This individual will have a deep desire to see students come to know Christ and will possess the visionary leadership needed to reach students in a missional context for the sake of Jesus. Working closely with our Minister to Kids and Families, this leader will be a part of crafting and implementing a comprehensive spiritual growth strategy for children from birth through high school.

Candidate Qualifications

• Is a follower of Jesus passionate about using his or her skills to help others experience a flourishing relationship with Jesus
• Is or is willing to become a Partner (member) of Flourishing Grace Church
• Has experience leading a flourishing student ministry at a local church and loves teenagers
• Is passionate about equipping families and parents to raise their kids and teenagers to follow Jesus
• Has a history of successfully building and leading complex teams of volunteers
• Has experience being a healthy team member and enjoys collaborating on a team
• Enjoys developing others and being a leader of leaders

Role Responsibilities

• Create engaging environments where students can meet Jesus and are led to pursue a flourishing relationship with him
• Develop and implement a discipleship strategy to help students learn to be lifelong disciples of Jesus 
• Create outreach environments where teenagers—and their families—in our community can be introduced to Jesus
• Develop and lead a team of volunteers and team leaders who are passionate about leading students into a flourishing relationship with Jesus
• Create momentum-building events such as summer camp that inspire students to follow Jesus and provides an opportunity for them to invite their friends to learn what it means to follow Jesus as well
• Pray for and lead others to pray for parents and families at Flourishing Grace and in our communities
• Meet with and encourage parents at Flourishing Grace as needed
• Work with the Minister to Kids and Families to develop and implement strategies and events to equip parents to disciple their children
• Connect events and curriculum with opportunities for parents to disciple their kids at home
• Participate with staff and leadership teams to create and implement gospel-centered outreach events where many of the attendees are not already a part of Flourishing Grace
• Work with the Minister to Kids and Families to plan “block party” type family events to connect with new parents and families in Davis County
