Job Description:

The Pastor is the spiritual leader of the church and has oversight of the spiritual life of the church in conjunction with the Board of Elders. 

Mission: 
To shepherd the flock at Grace Bible Church through clear and accurate Biblical preaching, evangelism, discipling others, prayer, and the personal example of a firm commitment to personal holiness.
 
Responsibilities:

1. Pray for and with the congregation 
2. Feed the congregation spiritually by reading, expounding, and preaching the Word of God; including discipleship of the elders, deacons, and church staff 
3. Administer the ordinances
4. Oversee the educational program
5. Oversee ministry partners
6. Pastoral care; visit with people, especially those with need, build relationships, & oversea the congregation
7. Serve as a member of the Elders and as an ex-officio member of all other boards/committees 
8. Establish and keep office hours
   
   

Qualifications:

1. A man of God, 1 Tim 2:11-12, who meets the requirements for serving as an elder in 1 Tim. 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Pet. 5:1-4
2. A gifted preacher, plus strong interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
3. Member of Grace Bible Church; agree with Grace Bible Church Constitution and Bylaws, regularly attend Grace Bible Church worship services
4. The Pastor should be fully prepared for his ministry with both college and seminary degrees or their equivalent; preferably having completed a master’s degree  
5. The Pastor shall be ordained (or equivalent) or willing to be ordained upon the call to serve with GBC
6. Consistent Christ-like character, with evidence of the Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
7. Consistent Christ-like life, ruling his own house well and having a good testimony with non-Christians
