Director of Advancement

Cono Christian School seeks a Director of Advancement who will be responsible for expanding a comprehensive development program, including annual fundraising activity, pursuing major gifts, planned giving opportunities, and initiating and maintaining relationships with institutions and families to support Cono’s work with adolescents. The Director of Advancement, reporting directly to the Headmaster and working with the Director of Admissions and other members the staff, will work to increase gifts from current and new donors, and promote a greater awareness and understanding of Cono Christian School and its ministry.

• Ability to articulate effective and compelling communications to a variety of audiences.
• Grasp of the advancement and marketing objectives of a Christian ministry and prior fundraising success.
• A commitment to work with adolescents.
• Possess a mature knowledge of the Church and Scripture, and a relationship with Jesus Christ that is shown actively by membership in a
reformed evangelical church and an interest in demonstrating God’s grace.
• Agreement with the statement of faith, mission, basic purpose and bylaws of Cono Christian School.

A 25-acre campus includes a main classroom building, a gymnasium, a student center, dorms, staff homes and a manse. Located in the Interstate 380 corridor in East Central Iowa, our agricultural setting provides beautiful sunsets, fresh air and four distinct seasons.

Students at Cono Christian School come from many backgrounds. Most parents want our assistance in helping their child overcome difficulties with academics and/or relationships. Many of our students have been adopted or have experienced some form of dislocation and family distress. We want to be a small Christian community excelling in parenting and teaching.

Bible Presbyterian Church (BPC) is a PCA congregation located two miles north of Walker, Iowa, on the campus of Cono Christian School. BPC, established in 1948, organized the school in 1951. The school continues to be the primary mission work of the church.
